Obituary

Carl F. Clark, 77, of Merrimack, NH, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023.

He was born in Grafton, WV to Carl and Bertha Clark. He was a 1963 graduate of Grafton High School where he played and lettered in football. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly and honorably served for 24 years as a Combat Engineer, retiring as a SMSgt. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the 819 th RED HORSE Squadron whose motto is, "Lead, Follow, or Get The Hell Out Of The Way". He earned numerous accommodations and awards but he believed his primary duty as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer was to lead and mentor his troops, instilling service before self.

Following his retirement to New Hampshire, he continued to apply his formidable leadership and technical skills. He was the Director of Facilities Maintenance at the Courville of Nashua, he owned and operated his own business - Clark's Home Repair, he was a Logistics Manager at Parsons Brinkerhoff in support of FEMA, and he was an Installation Manager on the United States Air Force Weather Weapon Systems at Hanscom AFB, MA. After his second retirement, he pursued his varied interests. He was a master woodworker, taught Hunter Safety for the State of NH, he was a hunter, fisherman, mentor, historian, and talented cook and baker. No one was a stranger to him. He would engage people in conversation wherever he was, especially if he saw that someone was a fellow Veteran, from WV, or a Steelers' fan.

He was a loyal friend, generous mentor, but above all, he was devoted to his family.

He shared 41 years of marriage with his wife and love of his life, Lisa Marie Clark. He was the proud and loving father of Linda Boozer and her husband Michael. He was the cherished grandfather of Anna Laudumiey and her husband Aarol; Stephen Hobbs and his wife Brittany; Alyssa Lopez and her husband Dane Roney; Jessica Boozer and her husband Captain Jeffrey Hoernemann, USAF; and Great Granddaughter, Addyson Laudumiey.

He is survived by his dear brother, Lawrence Clark and his wife Bobbie; and his sister, Linda Hollingshead and her husband Gary.

He leaves his nephew Carl Patrick Gallagher and his wife Teresa, nieces Allison Iapalucci and her husband Victor and their daughter, Juliet; and Ashlie Clark, her partner Emre Ayaydin and their son, Emmett.

He also leaves his father-in-law, Dr. Anthony Catuogno; sisters-in law Paula Catuogno and her husband Thomas Morra; Susan DeSantis and her husband John, Judith Goodwin and her partner David Greelish, and Joy Greene and her partner Christopher Fiumara; and dear nieces, nephews, and their children.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Carol D. Clark Lopez and his mother-in-law, Marie Catuogno.

And he leaves special and long-term friends who were very much a part of his life.

But the real reflection of this incredible man is what he meant to his family. Carl is remembered as accepting, always giving unconditional love. He was a wonderful storyteller and he a perfect balance of serious, supportive, and comic relief. He was selfless in sharing his knowledge and stood as a true example of strength and unrelenting love. In his passing, his family has learned that he is even a greater man than they already knew. His family will always love him and forever miss him.

Carl will be interred in WV at a future date. Locally, there will be a gathering to remember Carl at the DW Diner (his favorite), 416 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH on Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 11:30 to 1:30.
