Carol E. Kilminster-Travers, 71, of Merrimack passed away on Thursday, November 11 th , 2021 at Greenbriar Healthcare in Nashua, NH following complications from a long illness.
She was born in Queens, NY on February 11 th , 1950 to the late John and Doris Schuettinger and was raised and educated in Garden City, NY. After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy, Carol went on to attend Rosemont College and Adelphi University where she earned a master's degree in social work. This led to work as a social worker at Catholic Charities in NY and most recently as a senior social worker at New Hampshire Hospital in Concord, NH, where she worked for 18 years. She was also a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Merrimack.
Carol enjoyed vacationing at Lake Sunapee with her husband Steve and attended craft fairs in that area. Her and Steve both enjoyed watching sports together and vacationed at the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. Carol also enjoyed working in her garden.
Carol was very generous in helping those in need, both on a personal level and to many charitable organizations.
She was pre-deceased by her sister Joanne Schuettinger and is survived by her husband Steve Travers of Merrimack; son James Kilminster of Queens, NY; stepson Ron Travers and his son Ben, both of Dickson, TN and stepson Devin and his fiancée Kelly O'Tool of Derry, NH; sister Dolly Groner and her husband Larry of Merrimack; brother John Schuettinger and his wife Anne of Bridgeton, ME and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held privately for the family and burial will be held in Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack, NH.
