Obituary

Charles F. Metz, 94, of Merrimack, NH passed away on November 9th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, warmth, and a life well lived. He was the beloved husband of Jean Metz with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.

He was born in Natick, MA on April 9th, 1929 to the late Marguerite and Charles F. Metz. He was a graduate of Waltham High School and a member of the hockey team. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952.

Charlie was a master craftsman and jack of all trades who built his own home from the ground up. He enjoyed sharing his expertise and talents with family and friends.

Charlie was thrilled with his 30 years as a private pilot flying his Cherokee 180 out of Nashua Airport locally and around the U.S.  He was also an avid Bruins and Patriots fan.

Survivors include his loving family - wife Jean; three children Marie, Margaret, and Charles III; five grandchildren Kelly, Amy, Scott, Calista, and Charles IV; four great grandchildren Devin, Regan, Kyla, and Kyra; and grandson-in-law Brian and granddaughter-in-law Ashley, his sister Jean, his nephew Phil as well as many nieces and nephews.

Charlie was predeceased by sister Josephine and brothers Henry, Dick, Bob and former wife Ellen.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH on Saturday, November 18th, 2023 from 10am to 12 noon with Words of Remembrance from the family starting at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Reeds Cemetery, 192 Naticook Road, Merrimack.
