Daniel Roy
Dawson
May 1, 1994 – January 11, 2021
On Monday, January 11, 2021, Daniel Roy Dawson of Bedford, NH, loving son and brother, passed away at the age of 26 in a car accident.
He attended Manchester Community College for HVAC training and, while working in the field, continued his education to become a licensed plumber. Dan shared in the family household responsibilities, including building sheds and maintaining the household furnace. He was passionate about sports and all forms of competition. Dan became an avid member of the local paintball community in his free time, playing for the team "Fear", competing in tournaments and became a sponsored player. He was also an avid gamer, and enjoyed playing "The Division", "Ark Survival', "World of Warcraft" and "League of Legends". He loved the strategy board game "Risk", and the card game "Magic: The Gathering". Other hobbies included airsoft, basketball, working out, water and snow sports. As a compliment to his competitive nature, Dan had an innate need to be active to the fullest of his ability, pushing every activity to its limit, for maximum enjoyment. For each hobby that he enjoyed, Dan would go out of his way to arrange gatherings with friends to play his favorite games.
Dan spent his summers growing up at his maternal Grandparents camp on Baboosic Lake in NH and visiting and camping with his father's side of the family in Maine. Through love of family, he developed a love of all life, from his own pets at home, to small creatures and bugs out in the wild. Dan would go out of his way to make sure all were safe and protected.
Dan is survived by large families on both his mother's side in New Hampshire and his father's side in Maine, but at the core, he leaves behind his loving mother Jodi and his father Tim, as well as his younger brother and best friend Scott. Dan was a loving, caring brother and son who will always be missed.
A public walkthru will be held on Saturday, January 23 rd , 2021 from 12 Noon to 2 PM at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack. Due to COVID and with respect for everyone's safety, masks will be required for attendance and we are asking people to walkthru and pay their respects but please don't stay inside the funeral home to allow for others to visit. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when there is a chance for people to gather and hug.
With Dan's love of animal and the outdoors, in lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill in Bedford, where the family frequently hikes. Along with standard donations, they offer the option to buy a legacy brick and have a section dedicated to Dan, so family and friends visiting the farm and hiking will be able to keep Dan in their hearts during their time there. Donations may be made to either 174 Joppa Hill Rd, Bedford, NH 03110 or online at www.theeducationalfarm.org
