Daniel Francis Donovan Jr., 64, of Bedford, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, on August 7, 1961, Dan was the son of the late Lois (Moran) Donovan and Daniel Francis Donovan Sr. Raised in Lynn, attending grade school at St. Pius V, he graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1979. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at St. Anselm College and later earned his Master’s Degree from Lesley College.

Dan enjoyed a long and successful career in machinery and technology. Beginning at General Electric as a graduate of the apprentice program. He worked for G.E. for many years and then continued his career at Fidelity, concluding with Ericsson Wireless Solutions.

Outside of work, Dan most enjoyed spending time with his wife, Karen, at their home in New Hampshire. He was a devoted New England sports fan, with a particular love for the Boston Red Sox. An avid historian, Dan had a lifelong interest in the past while also keeping up with the latest technology and gadgets.

Dan was predeceased by his beloved wife, Karen Donovan, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage, as well as his parents, Lois and Daniel Donovan Sr.

He is survived by his sister, Dianne (Donovan) Myette, his former brother in law Robert Myette; his niece Allyson Valenti, her husband, Drew and their two children Sammy and Kathryn; his nephew, Christopher Myette, and his wife, Lindsay.

Dan will be remembered for his lifelong appreciation of history and technology, dry humor, loyalty to his New England sports teams, and the life he shared with Karen and their cats.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dan’s memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire.
