Obituary

Daniel F. McIsaac, 92, a resident of Merrimack since 1975, passed away on Thursday, May 25th, 2017 in Nashua.

He was born in Bayonne, NJ on June 19, 1924 to the late Daniel Aloysius and Mary Elizabeth (Tierney) McIsaac.

Daniel was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II from 1942 to 1946.  He later worked as a senior engineer for Kollsman in Merrimack for many years before his retirement.  Daniel was very involved with the Our Lady of Mercy Parish as a 7th grade CCD teacher and Eucharistic Minister, and as a member of board of the John O'Leary Adult Community Center.  In recent years his primary focus was on caring for the health of Agnes, his wife of 67 years.  He also enjoyed the antics and accomplishments of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. For many decades he was fascinated by and engaged in the complexities of vegetable and herb gardening.

Along with his parents, Daniel was pre-deceased by a son, James McIsaac and a brother, John McIsaac.

Surviving members of his family include his loving wife of 67 years, Agnes (Donaldson) McIsaac; eight children, Theresa and her husband James Horan, Eileen McIsaac, Gregory McIsaac, Thomas McIsaac and his wife Lisa, Joan and her husband Daniel Shanahan, Rosemary and her husband Paul Mitchell, Anne and her husband Dean Storelli, and Catherine McIsaac; 13 grandchildren, Nancy Horan, Sarah Kearse, Ian and Patrick McIsaac, Brendan and  James Shanahan, James, David and Elena Storelli, and Cynthia, Kelly, Julie and Kaitlyn Mitchell; 4 great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob McIsaac, and Abigail and Francis Kearse; a sister, Jean Martorana, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Tuesday May 30th from 5 - 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack on Wednesday May 31st at 9:30 AM. Burial with military honors will follow in Last Rest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Daniel's memory can be made to Our Lady of Mercy Parish or Future In Sight, formerly the New Hampshire Association for the Blind, www.futureinsight.org .
