David E.
Broyer
January 5, 1948 – August 2, 2023
David Edward Broyer, 75, of Merrimack, NH passed away on August 2nd, 2023. He was born to Joseph Broyer and Shirley Broyer (Walton) in Salem, MA.
David, the kindest, most loving, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife, Christine Broyer; son, Lucas Broyer with his wife Audrey Broyer (Courchesne) and their daughter Coralyn Broyer and son Oswald Broyer; daughter, Joette Broyer and her daughter Layla Broyer; stepson, Brian (Johnny) Connor with his wife Kelley Connor and his daughter Sabrina Kish; brother, William Broyer; sister, Barbie Mahoney (Broyer); and many nieces and nephews.
As a young man, David pursued a career as an Engineer, against the advice of his High School Guidance Counselors, who told him he "should do something with his hands". He attended prep school and then Northeastern University. He enjoyed a long and successful career as a well-respected Electrical Engineer in the Space Intelligence Industry. His mother, Shirley, loved to tell the story of how she bragged on David's success whenever she saw his High School Counselor around town.
David was a quiet and stoic man, but he also had a great sense of humor and a silly side that he shared with those who were close with him. He had simple and inexpensive tastes and shirked any sort of luxuries, his love of his sailboat and sailing one of the few exceptions.
He loved sailing and working on his sailboat and was a clever old salt who devised ways to get something simple on his boat to do something extraordinary.
A truly great man whose impact will forever be felt by his family, that loves him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever ingrained in the hearts of those who knew him.
There will be a private Celebration of Life held in David's honor in Salem, Massachusetts on 8/13.
