David Allen Stackpole, 92, of Hollis, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, February 27th, 2025, after a life well lived.

He was born in Biddeford, Maine on October 4th, 1932, the son of the late Howard and Caroline (Ward) Stackpole.

Following his graduation from Bowdoin College and after serving in the U.S. Army, David was a pioneer in the computer industry, travelling this country, Europe and the Pacific Rim for over 35 years until his retirement from Digital Equipment Corporation in 1992.

Along with his parents, David was pre-deceased by his brothers Howard, Jr., James, Robert and Joseph, and his sisters Patricia Stackpole and Laura (Stackpole) Mitchell.

David is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley, his children Debra and her husband Bruce, Carol and her husband Eugene, John and his wife Elizabeth, Beth and her husband John; granddaughters, Margaret and her husband Trevor, Kiley and her husband Joseph, and Cassidy; great grandchildren, Juliet, Christopher and Allison, along with several nieces and nephews.

Per the family's request, a private service will be held at the NH Veteran's Cemetery.  A celebration of David's life will be held by the family and announced at a later date.
