Donald "Gene" E. Entrekin, 88, a longtime resident of Merrimack, NH died Sunday Aug. 4, 2024 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.

He was born in Altoona, PA on Aug. 15, 1935 the only son of the late Horatio T. and Dorothy I. (Hess) Entrekin.

He attended school in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the Navy at 18 years of age and proudly served in the Aviation Division for 4 years.

Gene was an active member at the former Merrimack Congregational Church (now First Church of Merrimack) before his health declined. He served as a Deacon for many years.

Before retirement, he was the owner of Covenant Controls in Merrimack.

Members of his surviving family include, his wife of 62 years, Darlyne J. (Houston) Entrekin of Merrimack, NH; a son Bryan Entrekin and his wife Deborah Carroll of Hollis, NH and Darren Entrekin and his wife Shawna Wilder of Auburn, NH; a daughter Traci Entrekin of Merrimack, NH and four grandchildren, Mitchel, Bradley, Matthew and Alexandra Entrekin; one great-granddaughter, Ryan Entrekin.

There will be a Service for family and friends on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the First Church of Merrimack, 7 Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, NH. Burial will follow at Last Rest Cemetery.
