Dorothy E. Fothergill, 80 of Merrimack, NH died Monday July 23, 2012 at the Courville in Nashua after a long illness.

She was born in Revere, MA on Aug. 12, 1931 a daughter of the late John Francis and Flora E. (Voss) Boyle.

Mrs. Fothergill has been a resident of Merrimack since 1968 and was a member of the Merrimack Senior Citizens.

Before retirement, she was a clerk for the Hillsborough County Probate Court in Nashua.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church, in Merrimack and was a longtime member of the Ladies Guild.

Mrs. Fothergill is the widow of Kenneth G. Fothergill Sr. who died in 1988, and is also predeceased by brother John Francis Boyle.

Members of her family include five children, Karen Fothergill, of Merrimack, Kenneth Fothergill Jr. and his wife Karen, Janice Thomas and her husband Michael of Merrimack, James Fothergill and his wife Nancy of Londonderry, NH; and John Fothergill and his wife Donna of Brookline, NH; 9 Grandchildren, Heather, Nicole, and Ryan Thomas; Julia, Matthew, Nicholas, Jonathan, and Kenneth Fothergill; Kristyn Sizemore and 1 great grandchild Mia; a brother, Robert Boyle of Saugus MA, and a sister Arlene Croteau of East Waterboro Maine, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack Wed from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack Thursday at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack.
