Dorothy
Pynenburg
November 17, 1938 – October 14, 2023
Dorothy M. Pynenburg, 84, of Merrimack, New Hampshire, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, October 14th, 2023.
She was born on November 17th, 1938, in Nashua, New Hampshire to the late Ralph Maker and Rose Goss. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Merrimack, and while very private, was well loved and respected by all. She is best known for her avid love of family, friends, and animals.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Joseph F. Pynenburg, in 2015. She is survived by her brother Douglas Maker and a sister Barbara Patterson (Maker); two sisters-in-laws; Virginia Penrod (Pynenburg) of Merrimack, New Hampshire; and Paula Schofield (Pynenburg) of Manchester, New Hampshire; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Pynenburg, and his wife Susan of Auburn, New Hampshire; and Jim Pynenburg and his wife Jennifer of Merrimack, New Hampshire; four grandchildren; Travis, Adam, and Sydney Pynenburg; and Sarah Chin; and three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy and Joseph's love story began on horseback 68 years ago when Joe's horse ventured into Dorothy's barn. They married and enjoyed years of raising Weimaraner puppies and two boys and took care of several rescue dogs in their later years as well.
Dorothy was an excellent homemaker. In her free time, she enjoyed baking, knitting, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She provided wellness and security for her husband and boys, which was incredibly important to her. She was also instrumental in overseeing daily operations at Pynenburg's Service Station and made sure all was going well. She always selflessly offered support wherever and whenever it was needed.
Dorothy's generosity towards all living things had no boundaries. God has received a true angel, and she will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dorothy's memory to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua. The first $5000.00 dollars in donations will be matched by the family. Please consider helping us in making a difference in the lives of homeless and unwanted pets. No donation is too small, Dorothy would have loved this. Donations can be made online at www.hsfn.org/dorothypynenburg/
Per the family's request, all services and burial will be held privately.
