Elaine Mercer, 84, longtime resident of Merrimack, NH passed away on Friday, September 17 ^th , 2021 at Bedford Hills in Bedford after a period of declining health.

She was born in Quincy, MA on March 13, 1937 to the late Walter and Catherine (Sullivan) Higgins.

Elaine worked as a travel agent for many years for various companies and retired from Mercury Travel in Nashua. She was proud to be able to travel the world while working. She enjoyed being out in nature, watching all the New England sports teams, taking walks around town and going on "adventures" to Boston and Hampton Beach.

Along with her parents, Elaine was pre-deceased by a daughter, Debra Chiffy in 2007 and two brothers, Melborne and Walter Higgins.

She will be forever loved and remembered by her daughter Sheila Boone and her husband Joseph; three grandchildren, Joprin Bernard and her husband Charles Bernard, and Matthew and Joseph Chiffy; 2 great-grandchildren, Rocco and Alexander Bernard; her brother John "Jack" Higgins; two sisters-in-law, Diane and Joyce Higgins along with several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Elaine's wishes, a graveside committal service was held privately at the convenience of the family.
