Ernest Henry Cote, 89, longtime resident of Merrimack, NH died on Thursday, September 11th, 2025 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of declining health.

He was born in Londonderry, NH on January 29th,1936 to the late Ernest D. and Laurette (Fontaine) Cote. Raised in Londonderry, he was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy.

After high school, Ernie enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. After an honorable discharge, he went to a long career with Kollsman where he retired as a supervisor.

Along with his parents, he was pre-deceased by his sister, Elaine Fortin.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Pauline (McMahon) Cote; four children, Karen Cote, Linda and her husband Kevin Vesey, Brian Cote and his wife Lisa and Sandra and her husband Chuck Krueger; five grandchildren, Garrett, Taylor, Brandon, Hannah and Bryce; three siblings, Roger Cote, Irene Klink and Anne Mafera along with several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack NH on Friday, September 19th, 2025 at 9:30 AM. Burial with military honors will be held at the NH Veteran's Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen NH on Friday, September 19th, 2025 at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ernie's memory can be made to The Parkinson's Foundation, New England Chapter.
