J. Frank Hall, 95 longtime resident of Merrimack, NH died Tuesday Aug. 24, 2021 at his home after a period of declining health.
He was born in West Stewartstown, NH on Jan. 27, 1926 a son of the late Carold F. and Hilda S. (Butcher) Hall.
Frank was raised and lived most of his life in South Merrimack, and he graduated from Nashua High School. He went into the US Navy in 1943, and served until 1946 during WWII. During his service he attended Dartmouth College and Yale University.
Before his retirement, he was a mail carrier for the US Postal Service, and also served as the Deputy Fire Chief for the Merrimack Fire Dept in the 1970's.
Frank is pre-deceased by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Lorraine (Carter) Hall who died in 2012; he is also pre-deceased by a son James Hall who died in 2019; a grandson, John Watkins, and a brother Bernard Hall.
Members of his surviving family includes a son Philip Hall and his wife Susan of Merrimack, a daughter Janet Wright and her husband Ronald of Merrimack; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, a brother Charles Hall, and a sister Elizabeth Greenleaf; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A private graveside service with military honors will be held in Reed Cemetery, S. Merrimack, NH.
