George G. Baird, 79, of Merrimack, NH passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Ledgewood Bay in Milford, NH after a period of declining health, surrounded by loving family.

He was born in Boston, MA on July 25, 1943 to the late George A. and Elizabeth F. (Close) Baird. He was a graduate of South Boston High School, Class of 1961 and received his Associate's degree from Wentworth Institute.

George served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War under General Westmoreland at MACV. After Vietnam, he was assigned to West Point in New York until he was honorably discharged. For the next 30 years, George worked as a mechanical engineer at Shooshanian Engineering in Boston, MA until his retirement.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his three brothers, William A. Baird and his wife Helen, of Medfield, MA, Jeffrey J. Baird and his wife Sheila of Marshfield, MA and Gary L. Baird and his wife Marie, of Somerville, MA; nine nieces and nephews, Jeffrey, Erin, Brendan, Michael, Kevin, Patrick, Kathryn, Thomas and Jaclyn along with ten grandnieces and grandnephews and many friends.

Visitation hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH on Sunday February 26 ^th from 1pm – 3pm with a service to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 3pm. Burial arrangements will be private.
