Gunther Ernst
Otto Wenske
November 2, 1947 – July 27, 2025
Gunther Ernst Otto Wenske, 77, of Nashua, New Hampshire, peacefully passed away on July 27, 2025, with his beloved dog and loyal companion, Toby, by his side.
Gunther was born on November 2, 1947, as the cherished child of his parents, Johanna Pauline Wenske and Otto Wenske, in Bohnhorst, Germany. He leaves behind a meaningful legacy, along with his siblings Gudrun, Gisela, and Gerhard, with whom he shared many years of his life. His passion for electrical engineering led him to a successful career, where he excelled as a toolmaker, electrical engineer, revisor, and, finally, as an IPC specialist. Perfection was his mission. After feeling that life in Germany had become too confined, he sought new challenges in the vast expanses of America, where he not only found professional success but also great happiness in love when he met his beloved wife Elsa.
In addition to his successful professional career, Gunther had a deep interest in nature and all the animals of the world. He was actively involved in animal welfare, passionately dedicating himself to helping the weakest creatures of our society, who were particularly dear to him. Many beautiful journeys, both short and long, accompanied his life—trips where he was especially captivated by historical landmarks and the mountains. He particularly loved short trips with his family, where he found great joy and fulfillment in those moments.
Gunther was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsa. He is survived by his children Melanie, Gunther, and Martin, and his granddaughter Lina. He is also remembered with love by his stepchildren Elaine, Travis, and Ann Marie, and her husband Al, as well as grandchildren Kaitlyn, Lauren, Alfred III, and Audrey. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
"Love heals all wounds, and in heaven, there is no sorrow. We will remain forever connected, even though you are dearly missed."
In accordance with Gunther's wishes, there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place, and interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Road, Nashua, NH 03064 or online at https://www.hsfn.org/tributegifts , a cause close to Gunther's heart.
