Helen
Connelly
March 1, 1951 – August 17, 2025
Helen Connelly, 74, of Fort Morgan, Colorado, formerly from Merrimack, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on Sunday August 17, 2025 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. Rivet Funeral Home in Merrimack will host a visitation on Wednesday August 20, from 4 to 6pm. A service will follow at Platte Valley Baptist Church in Fort Morgan in the coming weeks.
Helen was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Frank and Helen Kovach on March 1, 1951. She attended Mount Ida College in Massachusetts and met the love of her life, James Connelly, while they both worked in Boston. James and Helen were wed on June 3, 1972 and settled in Merrimack, New Hampshire where they built their home and family together. For over 30 years, they owned and operated Think Video on DW Highway.
Helen was a fun-loving, adventurous, and inspiring mother to their two children, James and Theresa. Full of road trips, family holidays, summers at the Jersey Shore, hiking in the woods, and watermelon by the pool, Helen was always having fun with her kids and cheering them on.
Helen had a great love for gardening, sewing, and animals. Neighbors and friends around Merrimack have irises and other seeds or bulbs that she shared from her garden. She sewed everything from Halloween costumes to Easter outfits and Barbie clothes for her kids. Helen was a professional seamstress for years and had garments that were ordered and worn to events at Buckingham Palace. Helen ensured that there was always a family dog or even a rabbit to love.
Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband and partner in life, James in 2021. She is survived by her children James Connelly (Dianne) and Theresa Connelly Kembel (Tyler), grandchildren Aubrie and Peyton Connelly, and brother Frank Kovach.
Helen will be remembered by her family and friends for her playful and generous spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire to support the flower garden that she enjoyed so much during her time there.
