Catherine Edmonds
August 3, 1932 – June 26, 2025
Irene C. "Renee" Edmonds passed away on Thursday June 26th, 2025. An amazing wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Renee will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Renee was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Richard (Dick), who passed away in September 2013.
Renee was born in Milford Massachusetts. She grew up in Haverhill Massachusetts, daughter of the late James and Irene M. Orlando, with her younger sister Louise. She was educated in Haverhill schools and graduated with the class of 1949. She met her future husband Dick in 1952, while working at Western Electric as an Engineering Secretary. Renee and Dick were married at St. James Church in Haverhill on Valentines Day in 1954. After several moves in support of Dick's career at IBM, they settled in Merrimack, New Hampshire in 1974. Renee was employed at the St. Joseph's Hospital Emergency Room in Merrimack, transitioned to Office Manager for Dr. Anil Mukerjee, and retired from Care Plus Ambulance. After their retirement, she and Dick traveled across country in their motor home and spent many winters in Florida.
Renee was devoted in her faith and was a communicant at St. John Neumann church in Merrimack. She was active in the St. John Neumann Martha Ministry, Day Away Program and the Widows Group. She was a participating member of the Merrimack Senior Citizens Club and she and Dick enjoyed many trips and adventures with them. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her beloved husband Dick, Renee was predeceased by her son, Richard Jr. who passed away in 2016. She leaves behind her sister Louise; her daughter Susan Edmonds; two sons, James Edmonds and his wife Loretta, and David Edmonds and his wife Carol; eight grandchildren, Sara, Alex, Matthew, Steven, Rosalie, Jessica, David Jr., and Anthony; and a great granddaughter Amber.
Calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home located at 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, NH on Tuesday July 1st, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday July 2nd, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the St. John Neumann Church located at 708 Milford Rd in Merrimack, NH with a burial to follow at the Last Rest Cemetery also located in Merrimack.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Renee's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
