CW4 (Ret.) James William Bathey of Merrimack and formerly of Nashua, NH, passed peacefully on September 5, 2023 after an 8-year battle with dementia.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of 43 years; his daughters Marissa Brackett and husband Sean, Jodi McLaughlin and husband Jeff, Janet Rae and husband Tom; his sons Robert and Tony Bathey and his seven grandchildren Michael, Madison and Isla Brackett, Craig, Parker and Jillian McLaughlin, and Kaelan Rae. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Patsy Bathey.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, and his twin brother Robert Alan and his sister, Jacqueline Davis.

James was born on July 4th, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After attending Washington High School, Jim joined the United States Army and proudly served for 28 years. His assignments included Alaska, the Island of Kwajalein and Germany. After retiring in 1984, he worked for Raytheon in their missile system division for 15 years.

Jim loved his family, golf, his second home in Sarasota, FL and his wonderful friends and neighbors at Parker Village and Long Hill.

Visitation will be held on September 24 at Rivet Funeral Home in Merrimack, NH from 4-6pm. An interment ceremony will be held at noon on Monday September 25, 2023 at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawan, NH. Family, close friends and Jim's caregivers are invited to attend.
