Joan Squires Filanosky, 90, of Merrimack, NH passed away on May 8th, 2025, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Wakefield, Yorkshire in England on July 2nd, 1934, to the late William and Winifred (Stokes) Squires. Joan lived through WWII where her city occasionally saw the stray bomb. Watching rugby matches was one of her favorite activities growing up.  She was a trained nanny, which led to her coming to the United States in 1961.

In her free time Joan enjoyed football and was a Dallas Cowboys fan for life. She also enjoyed game shows, crosswords, and her cat Rugby.

She is survived by her son Louis Marc Filanosky and his wife Lisa; her three daughters, Margaret Filanosky, Julie Barrett and her husband Raymond, and Joanne Squires; her two grandchildren Gloria and Ray; and her brother Keith Squires.
