Julie Ann
Patterson
August 7, 1953 – August 1, 2021
Julie Ann Patterson, 67, of Chichester, NH was an amazing, giving, and kind daughter, mother, sister and a friend too many. She passed away on Sunday, August 1st, 2021 after fighting a difficult battle with cancer over the last year.
Julie was born in Nashua, NH on August 7th, 1953, to Barbara (Maker) Patterson and the late Dana Patterson who died in 1991. She attended Merrimack schools and then graduated from Rivier College with a Bachelor of Science to be a medical technologist. She went to work for Elliot Hospital after graduating and had a long career there. She then went back to school and earned an MBA from UNH to rise up to become a supervisor in the lab at Elliot Hospital. She worked extremely hard and while working full time at Elliot Hospital, she also worked for the emergency room in Merrimack that was part of St. Joseph's Hospital system. After her father passed away, she went to work for the family business, J&S Patterson, for a few years and then later left to follow her dream of running Kelley Corner Farm in Chichester for many years. It was a working farm with chickens, dogs, goats, turkeys and sheep. She loved that farm so much and it was one of her favorite places to be besides the ocean.
In addition to her father Dana, Julie was also pre-deceased by her son Serge J. Mailhiot in 2016 whom she absolutely adored and a beloved baby sister, Melissa J. Patterson in 2017.
She will be deeply and forever missed by her daughter, Heather Ann (Mailhiot) Artus and her husband Brian and their three children, Shaylee, Kyla and Gavin Artus; her mother Barbara A. Patterson; a younger sister Jennifer Patterson; a younger brother Steven Patterson and his wife Pamela Newkirk; a niece, Mandy Couturier and her wife Sarah and their three children, Alex, Paris and Joel, and a nephew, Jonah Couturier. She also leaves behind her Aunt Dorothy (Maker) Pynenburg whom she had very special memories of from her childhood and lastly the father of her children Lucien "Lucky" A. Mailhiot, and though they did divorce in 1987, remained friends till the end and he was extremely loyal and helpful to Julie, his daughter Heather and his son-in-law, Brian so that she could pass peacefully in her own home.
There will be a small private family memorial held at a later date.
For those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Julie's memory, you may do so to the Salinsky Cancer Center at Elliot Hospital or Dana Farber Hospital.
