On Friday, May 13, 2022, the Maurer family lost our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Ken Maurer of Litchfield, NH. Ken passed suddenly but peacefully in nearby Merrimack, NH, at the age of 74.

Ken was born in San Bernardino, CA on Jan 13, 1948, a son of the late Ralph and Eloise (Beatty) Maurer. A Marine Corps veteran, Ken received his Doctorate in Economics from UCLA. Before retirement he worked as an economist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Higher Education and Institutional Researcher for Salem State University.  Formerly residing in Westford, MA, he was an active member of his church as lector and a nine-year member of the audit committee, a long-time firearms instructor in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and a member of multiple Friends of the NRA committees.

Members of his family include his wife Lois A. (Scheele) Maurer; son Michael Maurer and his wife Jennifer of Kingman, AZ; daughter Katherina Softcheck and her husband John of Fairhaven, MA; two granddaughters, Samantha and Christina Maurer of Keene, NH and two brothers, Marty and Steve Maurer of Yucaipa, CA.

Visitation hours will be held in the Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 5-8 PM. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 170 Old Westford Rd, Chelmsford, MA on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 1 PM. Livestreaming of the service is available at (www.tlc-chelmsford.org/livestream). Interment will immediately follow in the church memorial garden. Family requests masks to be worn indoors at the funeral home and are required to enter the memorial service at church. Those who wish may send flowers to Rivet Funeral Home or make memorial contributions in Ken's name to Trinity Lutheran Church.
