Obituary

Kenneth “Ken” Emery Budnik, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October, 4, 2026, at his home in Hooksett, New Hampshire following a short illness.

Ken was born on May 21, 1947 , in Manistee, MI, to Emery and Nathalie (Fahling) Budnik. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Computer Science, Ken began his distinguished career with Raythyeon, which brought him to New England.

He was a longtime resident of Merrimack, NH, where he spent the longest and most defining portion of his career working for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). Ken later returned to Raytheon, finishing his long and successful career in Texas before his well-deserved retirement.

In his retirement years, Ken embraced the RV lifestyle, traveling and making memories. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family. Of all the achievements in Ken’s life, being a "Papa" was his absolute favorite. True to his nature, he excelled at it with unmatched love and devotion.

He was a devoted, lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, serving faithfully as Treasurer and Elder. His family finds great comfort in his strong faith during this difficult time.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sandra; his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jason Arp, and their daughters, Katelyn, Samantha and Tabitha; and his son, Richard.

He was preceded in death by his younger sister Bonnie Radar, and his younger brother John.

Ken will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His legacy of intelligence, dedication, and deep family love will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
