Obituary

Kenneth W. MacDonald of Merrimack, NH, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a short but very brave battle with cancer.

Ken was born on January 24, 1952, in Waterville, ME, to the late Lillian M. (LeBrasseur) MacDonald. He spent the majority of his life in South Boston, MA, until he retired in 2012 to Merrimack to spend the rest of his life with his partner, Jane.

Ken, like many others, saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 and decided right then and there that he was going to be a Rock N' Roll star. He started playing drums but then moved on to playing rhythm guitar and occasional lead guitar and contributing lead and background vocals in the Boston-area Taste, Masque, and The Spores bands.

In his work life, Ken was a roofer and a car parts delivery driver, all in the Boston and South Shore areas.

Ken was a kind and gentle soul, who loved a good cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee (Hazelnut, two creams, two sweeteners) and was always singing along to whatever was on the radio or the TV at the moment. He loved watching all the wildlife in the neighborhood, often commenting that nature was wonderful.  Jane turned him into a cat lover with all the cats running around the house, but his Bestest Buddy was a little Chihuahua mix named Toby who predeceased him in 2024. When Jane's family gathered together to sing, Ken was always harmonizing and singing along. He loved watching Steven Seagal movies, American Pickers, Big Bang Theory, Friends, and much to Jane's annoyance, Charmed.

Ken was predeceased by his mother Lillian, sister Jeanette, brothers, William, Ronald, and Malcolm, and most sadly, his beautiful daughter Mishal MacDonald in 2021.

Ken is survived by his loving partner of 14 years, Jane A. (Gearin) Worthy, and her sons, Tyler J. Worthy of MA, and Dylan J. Worthy of CO, whom he loved and was so proud of. He is survived by many loved ones and friends all over the US.

Ken's funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, NH on Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at 9 AM with the burial to immediately follow at Last Rest Cemetery.
