Lajos (Larry) Jozef Zsofka, 84, of Merrimack passed away on Saturday April 24 ^th at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Budapest, Hungary, son of the late Matyas and Katalin (Sipőcz) Zsofka. Lajos has lived in Merrimack for the past 52 years and worked as a self-employed contractor for many years and in his free time he enjoyed playing cards, bowling, bocci, traveling to Hungary annually, but most of all spending time with his family.

Lajos will be deeply missed by his wife of 59 years Janet (Quintaglie) Zsofka of Merrimack, sons Peter Zsofka and his wife Diane of Merrimack and Joe Zsofka of Merrimack, sister Kathy Grigsby of Kingsport, TN, grandchildren Nicholas and Alena Zsofka and half-sister Barbara Collins DeLuna. He is also predeceased by his brothers Ferenc and Matthew Zsofka.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday April 30 ^th at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church located at 16 Baboosic Lake Rd in Merrimack with burial to take place immediately following Mass at Last Rest Cemetery also in Merrimack. Memorial contributions in Lajos' honor may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
