Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Hugh Morrison, 83, of Merrimack, NH passed away on Sunday April 2nd, 2017 at Bedford Falls Assisted Living in Bedford, NH.

He was born in Boston, MA on January 11th, 1934, son of the late Hugh and Margaret (Vincent) Morrison. He attended Boston schools and graduated from Brighton High School in 1951, and attended Newbury Jr. College. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952, serving during the Korean conflict and served honorably until 1956.

Larry was a member of many community organizations, including being the Past Grand Knight of Allston K. of C #555, Past Commander of Allston VFW #669, the Holy Name Society, senior citizens club of Merrimack, American Legion post 98 of Merrimack, the VFW Post 8641 of Merrimack and the Knights of Columbus #6725 of Merrimack.

Mr. Morrison was an avid sports fan of the Boston Red Sox, and the N.E. Patriots. His hobbies included photography, traveling, drawing and socializing, but his greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Larry was pre-deceased by his childhood sweetheart, and wife of 59 years, Barbara (Dulong) Morrison who died on February 12, 2013; his son Richard Morrison, who died in 1977; a granddaughter, Heather Schezer; a grandson, John Schezer, along with two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth Arseneau, and Margie and her husband Bob Dexter.

Surviving members of his family include four children, Barbara Warren of Manchester, Mike Morrison and wife his Meg of VA, Karen Poulack of Merrimack and Thomas Morrison and his wife Heather of Manchester; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six brothers, Charles Morrison and wife Joy of MO, George Morrison and friend Louise of MA, Richard Morrison and wife Linda of GA, Vincent Morrison and wife Pam of Derry, Gordon Morrison and friend Debby of MA, and Paul Morrison and wife Patricia of MA; a sister, Patricia and husband Dave Simmons of Greenfield, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are kindly invited to calling hours at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH on Thursday April 6th from 4 – 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack on Friday April 7th at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton, MA.
