Obituary

Leonard Edward Welch of Merrimack passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.


He was born on October 11, 1934 in Bristol CT, son of the late Alfred and Bertha (Rosborough) Welch.


Lenny spent most of his childhood in Northwood, NH, graduating from Coe Brown Academy in 1952. He served in the Army from 1953 -1955 as an aircraft maintenance crewman. He began his forty one year career at Sander's Associates in 1958. Lenny earned his degree in Engineering from the Lowell Technological Institute while working full-time and raising his family.


He was married to Mildred V. Chacos (deceased) for fifty one years, and resided in Merrimack NH. He enjoyed his winter residence in Marco Island FL, dedicating over a decade of service on the Marco Villas HOA Board. An Engineer at heart, he had a passion for drafting, construction and carpentry. Over the years he made numerous additions to their home on Souhegan Drive, and later worked with Habitat for Humanity in Florida. Lenny especially loved sailing with his friend John Hughes and quietly kayaking on Northwood Lake.


Survived by two daughters, Kimberly Cadorette and her husband Dave of Nashua, NH, and Jennifer Welch-O'Brien and her husband Rick of Boerne, TX, four grandchildren, Nicole Cadorette of Nashua NH, Alex Hernandez of Nashua, NH, Colleen O'Brien of Dallas, TX and Michael Cadorette of Nashua, NH, brother Donald Welch of Loudon NH, two sisters, Leona Guptill of Northwood NH and Ethel McCullock of Largo FL, and friend Deb Fellers of Marco Island FL.

Lenny will be deeply missed and remembered for his outstanding hugs by his large extended family.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Sunday April 12 from 1-3 P.M. at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday April 13, at 1 P.M. at the Church of the Good Shepard, 214 Main Street Nashua NH. Interment to follow at Last Rest Cemetery, Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Lenny's name to Community Hospice House, C/O Home, Health and Hospice Care, 210 Naticook Rd. Merrimack NH 03054.
