Margaret "Maggie" J. Carter, 25, of Merrimack, NH passed away unexpectedly on April 18th, 2024, after a brief illness.

She was born on January 22, 1999, in Nashua, NH, daughter of Douglas Carter and Maureen (Simmons) Carter, she was raised and educated in Merrimack.

She received a Nursing degree from Colby Sawyer College and went on to work as a Charge Nurse at Catholic Medical Center.

She was known for her loving personality and infectious smile, her ability to put everyone's needs before her own, and how she could make your day better with a laugh and a hug. Maggie loved to travel with her mom and friends, play wiffle ball with her brothers and family, remodeling projects with Dandad, and Red Sox games with dad.

Maggie was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Ray Carter Sr., her brother Brian Carter, cousin Ryan Howes, Uncle Brett Simmons, Trina Leonard, and Danielle Bonner.

Surviving members of her family include her mother Maureen Carter, her two fathers Douglas Carter and Dan Leonard; her siblings Brendan Carter and his wife, Jessica, and Jason Leonard and his wife, Nicole; maternal grandparents John & Sandy Simmons; paternal grandmother Dolores Carter; Aunts and Uncles Colleen Ross, Mike Ross, Jeff & Mary Howes, Craig & Kathleen Beauregard, Jocelyn Simmons, Jim & Joy MacNeilly, Ray Carter Jr., Neil & Kelly Carter and Matt Carter as well as her cousins Abby & Brendan, Becca & Austin, Christie & Luke, Eric & Laura, Isaac, Bridget, Gavin & Lauren, Cara, Payton, Braeden, Bryce, Jeff, Mike, Molly, Colby, Brooke, Josh, Sam, Grace, Faith and Hope; nieces Chloe, Paige, Carlie, Nadiah, Lila and nephew Owen along with numerous close relatives and friends.

She left a lasting effect on anyone she encountered. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, from 5 – 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack NH on Wednesday, April 24th at 9:30 AM with burial to follow at Last Rest Cemetery.
