Mary W. Haddock, 84, of Hampton, New Hampshire, and formerly of Merrimack, NH and Stoneham, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Oceanside Nursing & Rehab in Hampton.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on March 9, 1942, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Irene (Haynes) Wilson. She was raised in Glasgow alongside her ten siblings before moving to the United States at just 19 years old, where she built a beautiful life while proudly holding onto her Scottish roots and beloved accent.

To know Mary was to love her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and kindness made everyone feel welcome. She had a remarkable gift for connecting with people and made friends wherever she went. Those who knew her couldn't help but love her. Alongside her beloved husband, Donald, she proudly owned and operated the local 7-Eleven for many years, where she became a familiar and friendly face to generations of customers. Whether serving customers at the store or welcoming loved ones into her home, Mary had a way of making everyone feel valued, cared for, and like they belonged.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and traditions that will be treasured for generations. An exceptional cook and hostess, she was famous for her Scottish shortbread, sausage rolls, French onion soup, and countless homemade meals that brought everyone together around the table. Holidays, family vacations, sleepovers, afternoon tea, and everyday moments became lifelong memories simply because Mary had a way of making every moment feel special. She didn't just open her home—she opened her heart, making everyone who walked through her door feel like family.

Creative and endlessly talented, Mary loved drawing elegant Victorian ladies, crocheting, knitting, baking, and sharing her imagination with those she loved. Let’s not forget those bagpipes! She had a deep appreciation for history, an infectious Scottish sense of humor, and a lifelong curiosity that inspired everyone around her. Her grandchildren especially will remember the magic she brought to childhood through tea parties, stories from her own youth, princess lessons, Scottish traditions and the countless ways she made ordinary days feel extraordinary.

Although dementia gradually changed parts of her over the last several years, it never diminished the extraordinary woman she was or the love she gave so freely throughout her life.

In addition to her parents and several siblings, Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Haddock, in 2004, and her favorite son-in-law, James Pynenburg, in 2024.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Paul Haddock and his wife Barbara of Manchester; her daughter, Jennifer Pynenburg of Merrimack, NH; her four grandchildren, Michael Haddock, Matthew Haddock, Emma Haddock, and Sydney Pynenburg; her sister, Roseann Wilson; and many cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.

The family would like to remember Mary not for the years dementia took from her, but for the decades she spent filling the lives of everyone around her with kindness, generosity, laughter, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the friendships she cherished, the family she adored, and the countless beautiful memories she leaves behind.
