Nancy Karen Mitchell, 78, of Merrimack, NH, passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2021. Nancy will be remembered for her kindness, love of reading and gardening. Her passion for life was often contagious and she was a very generous hugger. Her creativity, tenacity and compassion left her with many lifelong friends. Family was extremely special to her and spending time with them brought her the most joy.

Nancy was born in Detroit, MI on June 9 ^th , 1942 to the late Henry and Karen (Jensen) Slyfield.  This is where she spent her formative years.  She married her loving husband, Brian, in May of 1964. They moved to Merrimack, NH in 1976 to raise their two daughters.

She was a longtime store owner of Annie's Bookstop in Manchester, NH. She often held book signings and was able to meet some of her favorite authors as well as make many friends.

She decided to retire in 2013 and closed her beloved bookstore. She then split her time between her camp on Lake Ossipee with her daughters or her getaway in Florida with family and friends.

Nancy was pre-deceased by her husband, Brian Mitchell in 2005. She survived by her two daughters Karen and her husband Richard Barrows, Marjorie and her husband Joel Gunn, two grandchildren Kirstina Barrows-Smith and Kyle Barrows, two sisters Christine Rempert, Marjorie Springall.

Due to COVID-19, services for Nancy will be limited to immediate family members and held privately. Interment will take place at the NH Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
