Noreen J. (Kendrick) Backman, Age 84, beloved wife of late husband Richard A. Backman, Sr., died Friday, August 12 ^th at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born in Boston, May 17, 1938 a daughter of the late Joan (Kelliher) Kendrick and the late Arthur Kendrick and was a lifelong resident of Billerica.

Noreen was employed at BASF in Bedford Ma. and had previously worked for Homewood Suites Billerica, MA.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren also loved to play the slots at Foxwoods on occasion.

She is survived by four daughters Joan Powers of Merrimack, NH, Nancy Yeo and her husband John Yeo of Billerica, Maureen Kelley of Chelmsford and Susan McNeill and her husband Kirk of Tewksbury and pre-deceased by her only son Richard A. Backman, Jr. Grandmother to Sarah Powers, Katie Ann Sinclair, Melissa Yeo, Steven Sinclair, Kelli Yeo, Danielle Hayes, Philip Yeo and his Fiancé Vanessa, Shannon Hayes and Kim Hayes.  Great-Grandmother to Adriana Venezia, Ava Arpin, John Graceffa, Lucas Graceffa, James Yeo, Alayhah Walker. She was the loving Aunt to her three nieces, Helen Runyan, Jean Hentz and Julie Kelley and one nephew Thomas Rogan Jr. whom she raised as her own throughout their childhood. She was predeceased by granddaughters Michele Venezia and Lauren Powers, Sister Florence Rogan and Brothers James and William Kendrick.

A Mass will be held on Friday, August 19th at 10am at St. Theresa's Church in Billerica, MA and immediately after to Fox Hill Cemetery Billerica, MA for a graveside service.  Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
