Norman Alfred
Boisse
December 11, 1944 – November 5, 2024
Norman Boisse, 79, of Merrimack and Manchester, NH passed away on November 5th, 2024.
Born in Cambridge MA on December 11th, 1944. Norman grew up in the Pinehurst section of Billerica MA where he had many adventures with his neighborhood friends. Swimming and fishing in the Shawsheen River, working on cars, souping them up and drag racing.
Norman met the love of his life, Virginia "Ginny" Sloan at a local sub shop in 1962. They secretly eloped on August 21, 1965, as Ginny's parents didn't necessarily approve of them getting married. In time, his in-laws would grow to not only approve of their marriage but grew to love their son-in-law as one of their own.
Norman often spoke of his first "grown up" job working on refrigerator truck bodies for H.P. Hood company and all he learned there. In 1970, he, Ginny and their son, Norman moved to Jamaica where he worked at Alcoa, Inc., a bauxite plant.
In 1971, Ginny came back to the US briefly and stayed with family in Texas to await the birth of their daughter, Denise.
The family returned permanently to the US in 1972 and settled in Merrimack NH in 1973, when Norman began a 40-year career as a cryogenics technician.
Norman enjoyed working with his hands. He finished the interior of their new home bought in 1973 himself.
Norman loved taking his family on annual vacations snowmobiling and fishing in Pittsburg, the White Mountains and Ossipee Lake.
Norman was very proud of his family and would do anything for them. He loved being Grampy to Ian and Lindsey. Visited his son, Norm nearly daily and bought a home next to his daughter and grandkids 2 years ago. He loved being able to help his kids and grandkids work on various projects and cars.
He enjoyed taking his little sister, Carol out for lunch and to go sit at the airport watching the planes take off and land.
He is predeceased by his parents, his wife of 37 years, Virginia (2003), a son, Stephen (1967), his in laws, William (Bill) and Alice Sloan and his sister, Elaine (2002).
He is survived by his son, Norman and his wife Tracy, his daughter, Denise and her partner John, his grandchildren, Lindsey and Ian, who were the light of his life, and his sister, Carol.
A graveside service will be held on November 16th, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Last Rest Cemetery located at 13 Baboosic Lake Rd in Merrimack NH followed by a celebration of life at the John O Leary Adult Community Center also located in Merrimack.
