Norman L. Upson, 77, of Merrimack, NH passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA.

Born in Amesbury, MA on December 19, 1946, Norman was the oldest of four children to the late Gerald (loving step-father) and Lorraine M. (LeBlanc) Hargraves. Raised in Merrimac, MA, he was a graduate of Pentucket Regional High School.

Norman served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 - 1967 on the USS Kitty Hawk stationed in San Diego.  He served as an air traffic controller in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as an Air Controlman Third Class. He went on to work as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA in Nashua, NH for 12 years and then opened his own business called Video Workshop.

In his free time, he enjoyed reading, spending time with his beloved dogs, photography, going out for drives in his fun cars (Me+MyZ, Sunny, & Smooth) and being with his family.

Norman will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 52 years, Sheila (Fredette) Upson; two children, Jamie Upson and his wife Mary and Christina and her husband Sean Bossart; four grandchildren, Tyler and Kaitlyn Bossart and Meryn and Adelyn Upson; three siblings, Warren and Wayne Upson and Cathy-Ann Dow along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 from 5 – 7 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack on Friday, April 5th, 2024 at 9:30 AM with burial to follow at Last Rest Cemetery.
