Ovila R
Bourbeau
August 25, 1929 – August 13, 2025
Ovila R. Bourbeau, 95, of Merrimack, NH, passed away on Wednesday August 13th, 2025.
He was born in Bedford, NH on August 25th, 1929, the son of the late Ovila Francis Bourbeau and Eva (Vallee) Bourbeau.
Family was the most important to him. He worked very hard, but also made sure he had plenty of time for his family, and made sure his children were on time for all if their sports and other activities they participated in. Ovila was an airplane mechanic for the US Air Force while serving in Korea. Throughout his life he loved working with machines and would replace the brakes on his daughter Sue's car every 6 months! He enjoyed fishing, hunting and clamming, especially when the family took their yearly vacations to Humarock. He also loved going to the local car races and would even venture to Connecticut for some of them. Ovila also served as the President of the Bedford Legion and was a great listener and would always have the right answer. He was a great Pepere to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Ovila is predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Irene (Demers); his daughter Sue Theriault; his granddaughter Meghan Theriault; his four brothers, George, Louis, Edward, and Arthur; and his four sisters, Lillian, Alice, Annette, Ida, and Irene.
Gone, but not forgotten, Ovila is survived by his daughter Cathy; his son Mark and his wife Simone; his four grandchildren, Christine (Tucker) Petrin, Stephanie de Lima, Nicholas and Brian Bourbeau; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home located at 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, NH on Friday August 15th, 2025, from 4 – 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday August 16th at 9:00 AM at the Our Lady of Mercy Parish located at 16 Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, NH with a burial to follow at Last Rest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ovila's memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org .
The family would like to thank the Veteran's Medical Center of Manchester, NH for their love and care during this difficult time.
