Patricia "Pat" A. (Guercio) Davis, 74, of Nashua, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Patricia was born at Lucy Helen Hospital in Fitchburg, Mass., on December 15, 1947, to Patrick S. Guercio and Leona M. (Gallup) Guercio.
She attended Fitchburg schools and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1965. She also graduated from the Burbank School of Practical Nursing in 1967, earning her LPN. She married Thomas F. Davis in 1967, and they began their life together in Fitchburg, Mass. They then moved to Leominster, Mass and raised a family, which was the most important part of her life. After the birth of their youngest son, they moved to Nashua, NH.
Pat was a communicant of St. John Neumann Catholic Community in Merrimack, NH, where she served on several ministries, including, Bible Study, Hospitality, The Prayer Line, The Bereavement Committee, The Senior Luncheon Committee and the Faith Sharing Group. She was an avid reader. Pat loved the outdoors, the beach, sandals and summer. She looked forward each week to her hikes with several neighbors and friends. Pat and Tom loved to travel. They traveled to Italy, Mexico, and Canada as well as many destinations in the United States. They were often accompanied in their travels by their grandchildren.
During her Nursing Career, in Fitchburg, Pat worked at the former Burbank Hospital and Leominster Hospital. After moving to NH, she worked at the former Memorial Hospital in Nashua. She continued her Nursing career at the Matthew Thornton Health Plan, the First HMO in NH, which was acquired by Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic, where she headed the Care Management Department, retiring after 25 years. While at Dartmouth, Pat also earned her RN and Associates Degree from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. Once Pat retired, she continued to be a Volunteer at Dartmouth, where many acquaintances would see her at the front desk as they entered the lobby. She also volunteered helping patients with their Advance Care Directives.
She is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, Thomas and her four sons Thomas Davis and his husband Gabriel Zeitouni of Worcester, Mass., Todd Davis and his wife Kama of Chelmsford, Trent Davis and his wife Heather of Glen Allen, VA, and Timothy Davis of Nashua, NH. She is also survived by her Daughter-In-Law, Christen Silva of Nashua, NH.
Pat was blessed with six grandchildren, Jacob, Olivia and Emma Davis of Chelmsford, Mass., Gwenyth and Vincent Davis of Nashua, NH and Urban Davis of Glen Allen, VA.
She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Guercio and his wife Kathy of Sterling, Mass., James Guercio and his significant other Kristen Giddings of Bellingham, Mass., Paul Guercio and his wife Jane of Leominster, Mass., and Dianne DesBouvrie and her husband Kenneth also of Leominster, Mass., as well as several nephews and a niece and many cousins.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 DW Highway, Merrimack, NH. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Community, 708 Milford Rd., Merrimack, NH. Burial will be in the spring at the family's convenience.
