Phillip W. McDermott, 77 of Laconia, NH, a former longtime resident of Merrimack, NH passed away Tuesday June 3, 2025, at his daughter's home in Manchester.

He was born in Boston, MA on July 8, 1947, a son of the late Henry M. and Martha (Kilnkowstein) McDermott.

Phil was a loving father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather. He was hard working, spending several decades at Dow Chemical and proudly served in the US Navy. His favorite pastime included boating, barbeques, tinkering with electronic gadgets, and just spending time with family.

In addition to his parents, he also pre-deceased by his wife of 31 years Carla (Moskowitz) McDermott who died in 2001, brother Robert McDermott, mother-in-law Betty Moskowitz, two brother-in-law Alan Moskowitz and Richard Helinski, and partner Irene Provencher.

Members of his surviving family include a son Michael McDermott and his wife Wendy, two daughters Michele Marks and her husband Tim, and Kelly Dimitroff and her husband Rama; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Penny Marcotte, two sisters-in-law Brenda Helinski and Leslie Moskowitz, and several nephews.

Memorial calling hours will be held in the Rivet Funeral Home located at 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, in Merrimack, NH from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday June 9th, 2025, with a burial to follow at the Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack, NH. Military honors will be held at the family lot for the burial.
