Randall
Mithoefer
January 25, 1953 – October 17, 2024
Randall Mithoefer of Merrimack, NH passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on Thursday, October 17th, 2024 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Randy battled bravely in his short fight against metastatic melanoma and passed with his loving sons Scott, Kurt, and Trent by his side.
Born in Indianapolis, IN on January 25th, 1953, to Carl Mithoefer and his wife Vida, Randy was also raised by Vida and her second husband Don Finton. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis and received his Bachelor's degree from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN. Starting his career as a high school band director, and receiving his Master's in Education, Randy enjoyed several careers before ultimately finding his passion as a Financial Advisor for Ameriprise Financial.
Early on in his career, Randy owned a dive shop, taught scuba diving, and organized dive trips to the Caribbean and many other locations. When his kids were young, he dedicated his time to Scouting, being a Cubmaster for his Cub Scout Pack and involved with the local Boy Scout Troop. He loved fly fishing, and would frequently fish in both New England and the American Southwest. He was also the Director of the Merrimack River Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Over recent years, he spent his free time cultivating a farm-like lifestyle with his family home and dream vegetable garden. The remaining time of the year he spent enjoying Arizona and the Southwest with horseback riding, touring canyons, and exploring special sites with his wife Kathy, that they found and loved together.
Randy was preceded in death earlier this year by Kathy, his wife of 47 years. He will forever be carried in the hearts of his family, including son Scott and his partner Angie; son Kurt and his wife Nichole with their three children Zac, Claire, and Ella; and son Trent and his girlfriend Jen. He is also preceded in death by his parents and survived by his sister Sandy and her husband Bob Coppadge, and their three children Christy, Cathy and Bobby.
A Memorial Service for both Randy and Kathy will be celebrated at St. James United Methodist Church, 646 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH on Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at 11:00 AM with reception to follow. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, those who wish may make a memorial contribution, in honor of Randy Mithoefer, to St. James United Methodist Church where Randy and Kathy were members for many years.
