Richard “Rick” Dale Christensen, 60, longtime resident of Merrimack, NH passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 8th, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH.
He was born in Omaha, NE on December 23rd, 1965 to the late Merrill and Alvin (Snead) Christensen. He was raised in Omaha, NE and graduated from Omaha Northwest High School. While growing up, Rick thoroughly enjoyed motor cross racing, drag racing and stock car racing. He shared this passion with his father which meant the world to him.
For many years Rick worked as a machine operator and mechanic at various local locations. His enthusiasm with cars and engines helped him thrive in the jobs he held as mechanical engineer for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Gail (Ashburner) Christensen; daughter, Emeron Leetsch; two step-children, Ian White and Joclyn Hudson; five grandchildren, Charlotte, Zoe, Katherine, Kaya-Lyn and Toby; a sister, Penny Elliot and her husband, Jeff, along with many nieces/nephews. Throughout the years of their marriage, he and Gail enjoyed visits to the beach, followed by seafood dinners before returning home. He always put Gail on a pedestal ensuring she was taken care of, no matter what the situation. She was the love of his life.
He loved lighthouses, the ocean and the general sense of serenity. Rick was also one of the biggest jokesters and loved to make people laugh. He always had quick wit and a good one liner for you, whether you were ready or not. Rick would also always help friends out whenever he could.
Rick will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Memorial visitation hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH on Wednesday, August 26th, 2026 from 5 – 7 PM.
