Richard Thomas Slater passed away on February 27, 2020, from heart disease. He was 71 years old. Richard was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 6, 1948, to Dorothy M. Slater & Kenneth A. Slater.
A long-term resident of New Hampshire, he started his professional career in banking as Vice President of Marketing at Concord National Bank. Leaving the bank after 20 years he pursued a different passion by becoming a mental health counselor. His specialty in family dynamics and children in crisis situations brought a rich and fulfilling aspect to a life dedicated to helping others.
He is survived by his daughters Megan A. Cooper of Poulsbo, WA and Brenna Wynne & her husband Bruce Wynne of Brookhaven, PA; three grandchildren Ella R. Cooper, Asher & Sadie Wynne. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Richard is predeceased by his long-time partner Darlene V Rossignol, his brother James Slater as well as his parents.
Richard shared a passion for gardening with his father, he was a semi-professional photographer and a strong supporter of mental health in his community.
Cremation took place at Rivet Funeral Home. There will be no service per his wishes.
