Robert E. Dumont, 86, of Allenstown passed away on Saturday, December 5 ^th , 2020 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, NH from Covid-19.

He was born in Bradford, Maine on November 25 ^th , 1934, son of the late Wilburt Dumont and Goldie Davis. He graduated high school in Island Falls, Maine, then attended Northeastern University for Safety Engineering, and Kemper School of Safety in Chicago, IL.

Robert served in the US Army for 9½ years, reaching the rank of Master Sargent. After receiving an honorable discharge, he worked as a Safety Specialist in the insurance business for 40 years and retired in 1999.

Robert enjoyed fishing and being on his boat and was a passionate fan of the New England Patriots where he would watch the games with his wife Connie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Constance Dumont; his daughter Linda and son in-law David Desrochers, son Robert L. and daughter in-law Meilani Dumont; 5 grandchildren, Derek Serach and wife Joy Hurwitz, Breanne Gerke, Kaiden Dumont, Caitlin Desrochers and Erica Day; 2 great grandchildren Ruby Serach and Atticus Day; a brother Kenneth Dumont, and 2 sisters, Patricia Dumont and Rosanne Bates.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Saturday, May 29 ^th from 9 – 10:30 AM. A service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 10:30 with burial to follow at Bedford Center Cemetery in Bedford.
