Robert Peter Hartel, 71, of Natick MA and formerly of Nashua, NH, passed away on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 at the Elliot Center in Natick, MA after a period of declining health.

He was born in Boston, MA on May 1st, 1949 to the late Robert John and Lidia (Perni) Hartel. He was raised in Newton, MA and was a graduate of Newton North High School.

Peter was a Jack of all Trades, especially finish carpentry and many may know him from his ownership of Zepps, a bar in Newton, MA (the Lake).

He is survived by his wife, Luz Marina (Ocampo) Hartel of Ohio; two children, Peter J. Hartel of NY and Frances Soley Somma of Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Evelyn, Dylan, Lucas & Ian; sister Evelyn Frechette and her husband Mark of Nashua; brother Steven Hartel and his wife Paula of Holliston, MA along with several nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Sunday, April 11th from 1 – 4 PM. Due to COVID and with respect to everyone's safety, masks will be required for attendance and social distancing will be enforced. We are asking people to walk through and pay their respects, but please do not stay inside the funeral home to allow an opportunity for others to visit.
