Robert Charles Velcheck, 85, of Merrimack, NH passed away on Wednesday November 19th, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH, after multiple strokes and a fall resulting in a fractured hip.
Born in Somerville, NJ on March 4th, 1940, Robert was one of two children of the late Frank Velcheck and Josephine Klecz and stepfather Carl Windeler. He grew up in Bound Brook, NJ, playing baseball and working at the local ice cream shop. He graduated from Bound Brook High School and after serving 4 years in the Navy, he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newark College of Technology. A few years after graduation in 1967, Robert made a big move to Merrimack NH and started a lifelong career with Sanders Associates in Nashua NH.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his son, Michael; and his sister, Barbara Patullo.
He will be missed dearly by his son Robert N. Velcheck and his partner Jenn Simon of CO, his nephew Dan Patullo and his wife Carol and their children Becca and Kristy, his nephew Frank Patullo and his wife Kelly and their children Frank and Tara, as well as the Newsome family of Fernandina Beach FL and many close friends and neighbors in the Merrimack area.
Mr. Velcheck will be deeply missed by his son, Robert N. Velcheck, and his partner, Jenn Simon, of Colorado; his nephew, Dan Patullo, along with his wife, Carol, and their children, Becca and Kristy; his nephew, Frank Patullo, and his wife, Kelly, and their children, Frank and Tara; the Newsome family of Fernandina Beach, Florida; as well as many friends and neighbors in the Merrimack community.
A memorial visitation will be held at Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, NH on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM followed by a warm reception in celebration of Robert’s extraordinary life.
