Russell C. Steenrod, 74, of Merrimack passed away on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of declining health.

He was born in Oneonta, NY on January 9th, 1947 to the late Emmons and Evelyn (Chandler) Steenrod.

Russ graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in electrical engineering. He then served as a Major in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and completed his career at MITRE, retiring in 2013.

He was a life-long Boy Scout and served as a Scoutmaster for Troop 15 in Merrimack and was later a member of the Arrowhead District Committee, planning Camporees and Klondike Derbies. Russ also enjoyed being a member of local Ham radio clubs and spending time with his family.

He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 46 years, Suzanne (Farling) Steenrod; son Gregory Steenrod; daughter Johanna and her husband Daniel Bellon; granddaughter, Cecily Bellon; brother Walter Steenrod and his wife Dona along with several nieces and nephews.
