Higgins
September 11, 1965 – September 8, 2022
Scott Higgins passed away suddenly on September 8, 2022, just prior to his 57 th Birthday. He left behind his wife Cheryl Higgins, her daughters Ashley and Courtney, his daughters Caitlin and Kelly and their Mom Tara, and a son Kurtis Lavigne and step son James Totten. He had many grandchildren who he loved to spend time with: Shaunna, Nefen, Payton, Marcus, Elizabeth, Cassidy, Dakota, Shane, Rueben, Grace, Korie and Adrien. His sister Sharon and brother in-law John Nicholson and nephew Shawn will greatly miss him. He also left behind Uncles James and Steven Perkins, and Aunts Shirley and Victoria, and many cousins who knew him well including Timmy, Chris, Amber, April, Diane, Joyce and Jason.
Scott lived a full life. He grew up in Merrimack NH and worked for many years at Matts Salvage and Majestic Motors in addition to running his own recycling and logging businesses. As a youth he excelled at BMX bicycle racing and as an adult, he was a big fan of stock car racing. He followed the tradition of his grandfather and raced his own cars at Hudson Speedway in addition to being a member of the pit crew for the Matts Salvage late model stock car on the ACT Tour. Racing took him to speedways in Canada, Pocono and Dover among others. Besides racing cars, he loved camping, boating and riding 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. He able to spend his last year with his wife on a RV tour of the East Coast of the USA and they were able to attend some Nascar races in North Carolina and Virginia during this adventure. Scott was well known as a BBQ enthusiast and held many cookouts for his family and friends where he treated them to grilled prime rib steaks and lobsters as well as his famous vegetable stir-fry that included his own garden grown vegetables. He never missed a chance to go fishing with his friends and family, frequently taking his boat to chase after striped sea bass in the Atlantic Ocean. One of his proudest moments was catching a 45-pound King Salmon on Lake Ontario in Pulaski NY. His lively spirit will be remembered around the campfire by those who were lucky enough to know and love him.
