Scott E. Ordway, 56, of Merrimack passed away on Friday October 7th, 2016 at his home after a period of declining health.
He was born on October 1, 1960 in Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Norfolk, VA to Eugene C. Ordway and the late Elaine (Penley) Ordway. In his formative years, Scott lived in Oceana, VA, Alameda, CA, Millington, TN, San Diego, CA, Bremerton, WA, and Glen Burnie, MD. Scott graduated from Old Mill High School, Millersville, MD. He moved to Nashua in 1987 to be near his father and grandparents.
He loved running, hiking, cross-country skiing, hockey and travelling. He was also an avid reader with a passion and knowledge of the Civil War, having visited most of the Civil War battlefields in the Mid-Atlantic States. Scott also loved and had fond memories of visiting his grandparents at their home in Polson, Montana.
Members of Scott's family include his loving wife of 13 years, Melissa (Pilcher) Ordway of Merrimack; his father, Eugene Ordway and partner, Laurie Ludvigsen of Merrimack; his in-laws Ed and Lynda McCarthy of Las Vegas; Janette and Kevin Shuman of Canterbury; his sister-in-law Shiloh McCarthy of Nashua; and his brother-in-law Brian McCarthy and his wife Amy and son Colin of Las Vegas.
Memorial calling hours will be held at the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack on Thursday October 13th, 2016 from 4 – 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Scott's memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association or register as a donor in his memory with Donate Life New England.
