Scott Andrew
Richer
February 15, 1969 – September 14, 2024
Scott Andrew Richer, 55, left us tragically on September 14, 2024. His life began on a chilly February 15, 1969 in Nashua NH. Scott was the 4th of 5 children born to Nancy (Roche) and Henry Richer of Merrimack, NH. Scott was a happy baby and as he grew, even strangers commented on the halo of blond curls that surrounded his head like a little angel's.
Scott grew up in Merrimack, NH. He and his younger brother Mark terrorized the halls of the schools in Merrimack. It wouldn't be surprising to learn that teachers there still tell stories of the Richer Boys. Scott and Mark tore up the roads around Raymond Drive and Back River Road on their bikes with a group of friends including Brad Garceau, Mark Ciarla, and too many others to name.
After leaving Merrimack, Scott lived in a few different New Hampshire towns before finally settling in Manchester, which is where he was living at the time of his death. During those years Scott greatly enjoyed boating, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. Few things made him happier than spending time on a lake or pond with a fishing pole in his hand. Sebec Lake Maine was a very special place to him. He made many wonderful memories there with his Irwin cousins.
In 1991 Scott adopted his beloved daughter Brittany Lyn. He loved Brittany as only a father can. Scott had 2 other "heart-adopted" daughters whom he greatly cherished: MaRae Rose and Kelsey Taylor Connell. He always referred to the three of them as "my girls."
Besides his daughters, the other loves of his life were his dogs Tigger and Bo. The day Tigger died was one of the hardest days of his life.
Scott was employed by Dead River Heating Company, a company he felt very loyal to and who was especially supportive of him.
Scott was often the life of the party and his death will leave a giant void for his coworkers, friends, and family. While our hearts are shattered, there is some solace in the hope that he is now with his parents, his brother David who died in February, his niece Courtney who died last September, as well as his brother-in-law Grant Conley, his grandparents, and other relatives who left far too soon.
In addition to his girls Brittany Richer, MaRae Rose, and Kelsey Taylor Connell, Scott leaves behind his sister Karen Bourgeois and brother-in-law Dennis from Manchester, NH; his sister Diane Skellie and brother-in-law Russ from Thurman, NY; brother Mark Richer and sister-in-law Leah from Nashua NH; Sister-in-law Cindy Richer from Goffstown NH; nieces and nephews Alisha, Tim, Jeremy, Nathaniel, Juliana, Shaina, Corinne, and Nicholas; special cousins Brian Irwin and Laura Lee Sandberg, as well as many grand-nieces and nephews, and several other cousins.
Scott's family would like to offer our sincere thanks to the first responders and by-standers who helped him in his final moments. There is comfort in the knowledge that he wasn't alone.
Calling hours will be held at Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack NH on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10 – 11:30 AM, followed by a brief period of words of remembrance by family and friends. Friends are encouraged to share memories of Scott during this time.
