Obituary

Terrence "Terry" Kenney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully following a sudden medical event, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, love, and a life rich in service to others. Born on August 16, 1940, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, to Rose (Lacouture) and John Kenney, Terry lived a full life marked by dedication, both to his family and his passions.

Terry proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1969, including during the Vietnam War, where he forged deep bonds and displayed quiet courage that exemplified his character. His sense of duty was a hallmark of his life.

After his military service, Terry pursued his love of art, majoring in the subject in college and sharing his passion as an art teacher at various schools. He inspired countless students to see the beauty in the world through creative expression. Terry was also a talented jewelry maker, known for creating unique pieces that reflected his artistic flair.

His love for Aline, his devoted wife, was at the heart of Terry's life. He took great joy in making her happy, whether it was through the everyday tasks of grocery shopping, expanding their beautiful gardens, or installing a first-class irrigation system to keep them thriving. His thoughtfulness shone through in every aspect of their life together—from carrying her running gear and cycling beside her, to acting as her sous chef in the kitchen. Terry even handcrafted their wedding rings, a beautiful symbol of their enduring bond. Their shared love of identifying every plane in the sky was another of the countless small joys they experienced together.

A proud member of the Gate City Striders running club, Terry was also an avid runner and sports enthusiast. He was equally passionate about his 1963 Jaguar XKE, a classic car that brought him endless joy over the years.

Sadly, along with his parents Rose (Lacouture) and John Kenney, Terry is predeceased by his brother Jack Kenney.

Family meant everything to Terry and he is survived by his loving wife, Aline (Vanasse) Kenney; two sons, Peter Bradley and his wife Darlene Bradley and Pierre Martel and his wife Kathleen Coutinho;  two daughters, Renee Simone Coleman and her husband Mark Coleman, and Nicole Lavoie and her husband Niko Lavoie; nine grandchildren, Christopher Bradley and his wife Christa, Auburn Howard, Samantha Costa and her husband Douglas, Ryan Guidaboni, Nina Guidaboni, Jordan Dasilva and her husband Ryan, CJ Lavoie, Valerie Coutinho, and Madison Coutinho; four great grandchildren, Noelle Bradley, Savannah Rose, and Declin and Isabella Costa; a brother Peter Kenney and his wife Susan; two sisters, Jean and Natalie Kenney; and many nieces and nephews. Terry adored his family and treasured every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his two beloved dogs from the past, Saint and Gusty.
