Warren George McElwain Jr

Warren G. McElwain, Jr., of Merrimack, N.H., died September 12, 2026.

He was born in Massena, N.Y., on October 21, 1932, the son of Warren G. McElwain, Sr., and Alice McElwain.

Warren’s entire life was focused on his faith, expressed through his service to others. He was a daily communicant at Our Lady of Mercy Church. He served as a Eucharistic Minister both at the church and to the homebound. He was also a member of the Bereavement Ministry and volunteered for many years at the Food Bank, Food Pantry, and Hospice House.

Warren served in the Army for two years following college. He then taught science for 37 years, teaching grades 7–12.

He leaves his beloved wife, Mildred, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage; four sons: David and his wife, Elizabeth; Joseph and his wife, Michele; Thomas and his wife, Sherry; and Stephen. He also leaves seven grandchildren, two of whom are deceased, and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday October 1st from 3 - 5 PM at the Rivet Funeral Home located at 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 2nd at 10 AM at the Our Lady of Mercy Church located at 16 Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, NH with a burial to follow at the Last Rest Cemetery also in Merrimack. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Warren's memory can be made to the Community Hospice House and Home Health and Hospice.
