Wayne T.
Garstang
July 8, 1966 – March 7, 2023
Wayne T. Garstang, 56, of Merrimack, passed away on Tuesday March 7 th at the Community Hospice House with his family by his side.
He was born in Nashua, NH on July 8th, 1966, son of Richard and Thelma Garstang.
Wayne enjoyed his time with the Special Olympics, candlepin bowling, time with Opportunity Networks, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. Wayne was a proud member of the Merrimack Friars, an auxiliary member of both the VFW Post 8641 and American Memorial Legion Post 98 of Merrimack, and an honored supporter of the American Legion Riders. He was a huge Boston sports fan and never missed a WWE wresting event. He always made sure to let you know which team or wrestler's jersey he was wearing at the time in case you were ever wondering. He was always the life of the party, loved to cut it up on the dance floor, always ready to join the band on the drums and never passed up the mike at karaoke night.
Wayne graduated High School in 1987 and was a full-time employee at Newick's Seafood restaurant in Merrimack for over 16 years before it's closing. He was an avid bowler and participated in many leagues over the years at Leda Lanes in Nashua and won dozens of medals at the Special Olympics. He was also the official bat boy for Combat Corporation in the Merrimack Men's Softball League for many years.
Wayne will be missed and never forgotten by his mother Thelma (Sears) Garstang, brothers John Garstang of Merrimack, Richard "Haus" Garstang of Milford, a sister Diane Justason of South Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was predeceased by his father Richard Garstang, sister Sandra Garstang and his brother Ronald Garstang.
