William F. Carr Jr, 66, of Merrimack, NH passed away Sunday July 27, 2014 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after a long illness.
He was born in Boston, MA on Oct. 12, 1947 son of the late William F. and Rita F. (Carey) Carr.
Bill lived his early years in Wayland MA and Ashland MA, and was a graduate of Ashland High School. Bill was also a Master Graduate of the University of Michigan and received many other Master Degrees in his lifetime.
In 1967, Bill served in the US Air Force as a Civil Engineer during the Vietnam Conflict. Later, Bill was commissioned Navy and retired Lieutenant Commander in 1979.
In 2012, Bill retired from iRobot, Bedford MA as the System of Systems Integration Manager. He also helped develop the next generation robot for the US Army. Bill worked as an independent Consultant as well as for MJI Associates of Long Island New York as a Senior Consultant who helped design and develop one of the company's key software systems. Other companies, in this area, Bill has worked with are BAE & Kollsman.
Bill loved traveling, swimming, cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved cars especially BMW's and Cadillac's.
Members of his family includes his wife Debra A. (Tetrault) Carr of Merrimack, NH; two sons, William F. Carr III and his wife Jennifer of Seattle, WA, and Sean Carr of New London, NH; two daughters Erica Romero and her husband Roman of Clovis, NM, and Gina-Leigh Carr of Manchester, NH; two step-children Joseph Pasquarosa of Merrimack, and Jill-Marie Nelson and her husband Robert of Merrimack, six grandchildren, Aeowynn Romero, Logan Carr, Mia-Marie, Zackary, Anthony, and Evan Nelson; two brothers, Christopher Carr and his wife Marsha of Newmarket, NH and Robert Carr of Marlboro, Ma and one niece and great niece from Missouri, as well as several cousins. He is pre-deceased by a brother and sister in-law, Stephen and Jan Carr.
